Madeline Island School of the Arts, Retreat

Next fall I will be teaching a Mixed Media Textile Art Collage Retreat at the beautiful main campus of the Madeline Island School of the Arts near La Pointe, WI.
Madeline Island School of the Arts, MISA, was founded by Charles E. Meech in 2009 on Madeline Island, WI, the largest of the 22 Apostle Islands in Lake Superior.
The property was transformed from a former dairy farm into a vibrant arts campus, offering workshops in writing, painting, urban sketching, mixed media, quilting, fiber arts and photography. MISA has since become recognized as one of the nation's premier art and craft workshop schools.

Madeline Island has an interesting and varied history, and you can read more about it HERE. And the indigenous people of the Ojibwe tribe have occupied the island since the early 17th century. Use the link above to see some great historical photos of the area.
